Bhansali beat El Basha Polo 5-3, and won the January Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club League (AHPRC), the first within the 2023 season. The tournament, that took place at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, commenced on Wednesday January 11, and saw four teams, in competitions. The matchdates were played on Wednesday January 11 and Friday January 13, while the finals were due on Sunday January 15.
Bhansali and El Basha Polo played the championship match, with the former earning wide advantages in the first chukkas, until Tariq Al Habtoor and Santos Iriarte leveled the scores by half time. In the last chukka, Justo Cuitiño managed to tie at 3-all, but the winners’s patron, Rishi Bhansali replied quickly with two unanswered goals to seal the deal.
The Subsidiary went to Hesketh Polo, who took an impressive 5-1 win over Dubai Wolves.
Osama Esmat, CEO of Rooms at Al Habtoor Polo Resort, presented the awards. Rishi Bhansali was named MVP, and China, ridden by Bhansali, took BPP honors.
The teams that competed in the AHPRC January League were Bhansali Polo, Dubai Wolves, El Basha Polo, and Hesketh Polo.
