It was a fun and action-packed afternoon at the grounds of Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club as the AHRPC Christmas League 2018 concluded with another win for the Bin Drai. The team, which won the Sir Winston Churchill Cup 2018, proudly lifted the trophy as they closed the day with a final score of 7-6 against Mahra Polo Team.

 

The culmination of the AHPRC Christmas League had a festive swing to its usual Friday Polo Picnic. Gazeboes were adorned with Christmas decorations where guests relaxed and enjoyed the Subsidiary and Final matches. A delightful Christmas Market with delicious food and all things sweet from the food trucks on site were available for the guests to indulge in some last minute shopping or delicious food. The children entertained themselves in Christmas carnival games, arts and crafts and gingerbread making as the day ensued.

 

The Subsidiary Final had RA/PBS Polo and Kuwait/Rhinos Polo teams compete in the field. It was close match resulting to a final score of 6-5 in favour of RA/PBS Polo team.

 

Santa Claus came to polo on a horse trotting down the field with gifts for all the children who came to see him. Mrs Santa and a cute elf assisted in distributing toys and chocolates that brought a smile to the little ones.

 

As Santa waved goodbye, Bin Drai Polo and Mahra Polo teams lined up for the anticipated Final match. Both teams showcased their passion for the sport and capped off the AHPRC Christmas League 2018 with Bin Drai Polo team as victors and Khalid Bin Drai as the Most Valuable Player.
