And it’s a wrap for the Terralpa Silver Cup, the second leg of the prestigious 54th. International Polo Tournament, that takes place at Ayala Polo Club. While Brunei and Amanara were crowned medium goal and low goal champions, respectively, the only decisive contest left was high goal, with Amanara and Black Bears in search of the title, on the match played on Saturday August 16.
Amanara was seeking a rematch, after being the runner up of the high goal Bronze Cup, while Black Bears were doing remarkably well. The match commenced with a 2-all in the first chukka, but Amanara seized the reins from the second chukka onwards. Although Amanara’s Nicky Sen had to be subbed in by Marty Romualdez in the fourth chukka, the blue jerseys were the dominating force and claimed and impressive 12-7 lead in the fifth chukka. Despite Tomás Panelo’s attempts to lead Black Bears into an extra chukka, the deal was said and done. Amanara won 12-9 and claimed the high goal Silver Cup, their first ever in Spain.
