The draw for the Wellington Polo Tour took place on Wednesday, with a speech by Honorary President Tim Gannon, who highlighted his vision of competitiveness, fairness and fun for the league. The series will be kicking off next Wednesday with the USPA Outback Invitational Cup. The final is due on February 12. Eleven teams, up to 16 goals, are set to compete. 

Tournament Format:

-The 11 teams have been divided into 3 brackets.

-Brackets 1 and 2 will play across brackets.

-Teams will be ranked 1 through 6, and the top 2 teams will advance to the USPA Outback Invitational Semifinals.

-In the event of a two-way tie, who-beat-who will be used if the teams played against each other. All other ties will be broken with a one man shoot out tie breaker.

-The bottom 4 teams will advance to the Outback Handicap Semifinals.

-Teams from bracket 3 will all play each other within the bracket, for a total of 4 games.

-Teams will be ranked 1 through 5, and the top 2 will advance to the Outback Invitational Semifinals.

-In the event of a two-way tie, who-beat-who will be used if the teams played against each other. All other ties will be broken with a one man shoot out tie breaker.

-For the semi-finals, the first place team from Bracket I/II will play the second place team from Bracket III, second place team from Bracket I/II will play and first place team from Bracket III, and the winners will advance to the USPA Outback Invitational Final.
