On Thursday, January 10, at Thai Polo & Equestrian Club, one of the most important tournaments in Asia will kick off: the Thai Polo Open. Four 14-goal teams are set to compete in the tournament, which marks the beginning of the Royal Malaysian Polo Association International League. The series then continues in Malaysia in August with three tournaments: the Royal Selangor Polo Club Open, the RMPA Classic & the RMPA International League Final.

Thai Polo has put together a strong team, and seem to be favourites in the tournament. Facundo Fernández Llorente, who recently played the Argentine Open, will be accompanied by Carlos Pando, Harald Link and Juan Manuel García Grossi, who all formed part of the 2018 winning Thai Polo line-up, victorious in last year’s Royal Malaysian Polo Association International League.

However, the tournament will be no easy feat for them; they will be up against three competitive teams: 2016 winners 22BR; 2018 finalist Axus; and La Familia, 2017 champion.

The tournament final is scheduled for Saturday, January 19; a fabulous party will close the competition.

THE THAI POLO OPEN WILL BE STREAMED LIVE, EXCLUSIVELY VIA POLOLINE TV.
