A new edition of the Open de France, the premier tournament of the Polo Club du Domaine du Chantilly, is due to start on Friday, September 2.  Located only thirty minutes from Paris, the City of Lights, the sophisticated and lavish club promises to deliver a splendid 2022 Open de France, one of the most significant and remarkable events of the polo season in Europe, that will see 16 teams, up to 16 goals, compete.

Among those who will be in participation are current title holders Alex Garese’s La Magdeleine, who aim to retain the trophy they won in 2021. Recent champions of the Coupe d’Or, Brittany, will be competing too; and Jean-Francois Decaux’s will play alongside Diego Cavanagh once again (they won the another legendary golden trophy, the British Open, in 2020).

Kazak, a team who had a great Polo de Paris season, running out the winners of the Open de Paris last June, will go for the rematch after losing the final of the 2021 Open de France to La Magdelaine. In order to achieve this, Kazak will see their captain, Sébastien Aguettant, back in the saddle (he was unable to play at Polo de Paris due to an injury). In addition, some of the most renowned French organisations will take part in the upcoming Open de France: Los Dragones; Ste. Mesme (winners in 2018); Marquard Media who, despite having a Swiss captain, Tommy Rinderknecht, have been based in France for several years. They will be joined by two lineups that have made remarkable achievements in Deauville: Talandracas, runners up of the Coupe d’Or, and Isabelle Larenaudie’s Télédou who, under the name of Barriere, claimed the last Coupe d’Argent. She will be playing alongside three members of the Zavaleta family – Ramiro, Juan Gris, and Simón (Juan Gris was unable to make it to the Coupe d’Argent and was subbed in by Martin Aguerre Jr).

The Open de France promises to deliver great polo in a unique destination, very close to Paris; great quality polo and very good teams, who aim to win the most important tournament in France in a historical edition.

The final of the Open de France is set to be played on Sunday, September 18.

The Open de France will be streamed LIVE on PoloLine.TV; worldwide and free of charge.
