The 129th. Hurlingham Open, the second leg of the Argentine Triple Crown, continued on Wednesday October 12, with double action at the AAP Headquarters, set in Pilar. Ellerstina and La Dolfina Saudi made spectacular debuts in the competition, following their impressive wins against La Irenita GSquared and La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus, respectively. The tournament sees eight teams between 29 and 39 goals, in participation.

Ellerstina and La Irenita GSquared opened fire, in a contest that was heavily dominated by the Pieres-Hilario Ulloa foursome, earning large advantages from the very start. Ellerstina provided solid team play, accurate team play and a very precise Facundo Pieres, who produced 10 of the 16 goals for the General Rodriguez-based lineup. Meanwhile, Felipe Dabas managed to score all 5 goals for La Irenita GSquared. Halfway through the fifth chukka, a heavy collision between Gonzalito Pieres and Santiago Loza earned the latter a red card, which obliged him to leave the field, and being subbed in by Mariano Gonzalez.

The follow-up between La Dolfina Saudi and La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus, was expected to be a balanced contest, but to everybody’s surprise, La Dolfina Saudi overwhelmed a somewhat lost La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus, who were unable to score in the first two chukkas. Under the command of an extraordinary Poroto Cambiaso, La Dolfina Saudi took an impressive 7-0 advantage by the end of the second period. La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus would score their first goals halfway the third chukka, through two penalty conversions by Sapo Caset, while La Dolfina Saudi continued their walk in the park – they went even further and closed the fifth chukka with an impressive 11-2 lead. Facundo Sola (2) and Jerónimo del Carril struggled to score for La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus in the sixth chukka, but the damage had already been done; La Dolfina Saudi’s powerful dominance continued until the last chukka, when Pelón Stirling and Poroto Cambiaso sealed the deal and secured the 15-5 victory.

It is worth noting that following these results, La Dolfina Saudi and Ellerstina are expected to clash on Sunday October 23., at the Hurlingham Club.
