Julian Hipwood is, indeed, a legend: a man who left a indelible mark within British polo and who reached a handicap of 9 goals. In addition, he played the final of the Argentine Open twice, and lost against Coronel Suarez. After his retirement of competitive polo, he became a coach for many teams, and he still have strong bonds with his roots, the place he calls his is second home – Cowdray Park Polo Club.
With his usual kindness, Julian opened the doors of his home to PoloLine, to do an interview, in which he spoke about everything – from his early beginnings, his tough path to arrive to a club like Cowdray Park, and all the countries he has played, including India, where he was able to go when he became a high goal player. He also remembered the finals he played at Palermo and the poignant memories of his great friend, Gonzalo Tanoira. Last but not least, he left a message to all the young British players, and what polo means in his life.
