On Sunday, Park Place defeated Tarantula to claim the Black Bears Women’s Tournament at Black Bears Polo Club. The tournament marked the beginning of the Victrix Ludorum Tour, a series of competitions for women in England. The marquee player of the final was Argentine 8-goaler Lia Salvo.

Post-final, Salvo spoke to Pololine. Below are snippets from her interview:

“It is a great feeling because it is my first year playing for Park Place, my teammates are amazing.”

“I’m not playing Facundo Pieres’ horses, I don’t think he would be happy about that! I’m playing horses from the Park Place organisation. They are really nice. Today Andrey lent me three of his best ponies, they were just amazing.”

“It was a tough tournament. Now we are going to play Cowdray Ladies, and then Guards in August.”

“It is a very good time here in England for women’s polo, you can stick with the same team and play six or seven tournaments at some of the best clubs in England.”
