Adolfo Cambiaso is ready to play his eighth final of the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, this time with La Dolfina Scone. The Argentine-Australian organisation earned a ticket to the championship match of England’s most important tournament after an impressive 10-5 win over Ferne Park, in semifinals.
History records mark that Cambiaso won his first title at Cowdray Park in 1991, with Tramontana, with the last being in 2020, with Jean-Francois Decaux’s Next Generation, in a lineup that included his son, Poroto. And Sunday will see Cambiaso in another family affair – he will be playing the decisive match with his daughter, Mia, who aims to become the first woman to claim the British Open.
PoloLine spoke to Adolfo Cambiaso, to discuss his feelings about this particular moment of his life, and the significance to play another final of the British Open, and with his daughter.
