Whizmo beat Dos Lunas and claimed the medium gol Open de España, in the final that took place on Sunday June 29, at Ayala Polo Club, in Sotogrande, Spain. The most important tournament of the spring season in the south of the Spain, saw three teams up to 12 goals, compete – Whizmo, Dos Lunas y Grupo Mendizabal. The competition was played as a round robin.
Dos Lunas (who won their two previous games) and Whizmo (who was beaten by Dos Lunas, then defeated Grupo Mendizábal), then, clashed for the title, in a very even match, However, Pascual Sainz de Vicuña’s lineup was 4-3 up by half time. But Whizmo managed to bounce back and by the start of the last chukka, they were leading by two goals. After a hard fought last chukka, Whizmo was victorious 9-8.
