La Dolfina Tamera and The Dutta Corp are through the semifinals of the USPA Gold Cup, following their wins against BTA and Park Place, respectively, in the mini quarter finals, that were played on Sunday March 22, at the National Polo Center (NPC), set in Wellington, Florida, United States. The USPA Gold Cup, second leg of The Gauntlet Of Polo, sees ten teams up to 22 goals, partake. Teams are split in two leagues.
It’s worth to remember that the two unbeaten lineups, Pilot and La Dolfina Scone, were already qualified for the semis, which are due on Wednesday March 25.
La Dolfina Tamera beat BTA 9-7, in the opening contest; a match that commenced with a slight advantage for the former in the first chukka, followed by a 2-all in the second. However, La Dolfina Tamera seized the reins from the third chukka onwards, and claimed the victory and the first spot in the semifinals. Up next, and in a very tough and hard fought tame, The Dutta Corp – recent winners of the CV Whtiney Cup – earned a narrow 10-9 win over Park Place, in extra chukka. Facundo Cruz Llosa produced the winning goal. Both lineups featured chages – Santiago Virge Lamadrid subbed in for Andrey Borodin, and Joaquín Panelo was replaced by Lucas Díaz Alberdi, in Park Place and The Dutta Corp, respectively.
THE SEMIFINALS OF THE USPA GOLD CUP WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 25, WITH THE FOLLOWING ORDER OF PLAY:
11,30am: Pilot vs. The Dutta Corp
