With only a few days remaining for the start of the British Open, Aureus faced the unexpected and untimely passing of their patron, Sunjay Kapur. Due to this tragic circumstance, it was considered the possibility that Aureus would not play the tournament hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club; but the players decided to do so, as a tribute to the renowned India-born businessman.
Shane Finemore stepped in and the organisation is now called Aureus GV; and despite the grief caused by the sad loss, the foursome earned a debut win against King Power MB.
Mark Tomlinson, one of the members of the lineup who won the Prince of Wales Trophy, spoke to PoloLine to tell all about this special circumstance, the plans for the future, and the eternal gratitude to Sunjay.
