The IX Argentine Women’s Open, the most remarkable ladies polo tournament in the world, commenced on Monday November 24, at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters, in Pilar. The competition sees three teams, partake, in lineups that feature some of the best ladies polo players.

 

La Dolfina and La Hache Pax opened fired. After a tied first chukka (2-2), La Hache seized the reins in the second chukka, when they claimed a two goal advantage. However, the Cañuelas girls had other ideas in mind; under the command of their coach, Jejo Taranco, they bounced back in the third chukka, which meant that by half time they reached a 6-5 lead. A determined La Dolfina foursome made an impressive comeback in the following chukka, when they outscored La Hache 7-0.

While La Hache attempted to find their best form in order to aim to their next match, La Dolfina managed to retain the lead. At the end of the day, the 2024 runner-up had a great start, that allows them to keep their hopes to reach the final of the Women’s Argentine Open again.
