Founded in 1986, the Heritage Cup has been held at numerous venues across the country, including New Bridge Polo & Country Club in Aiken, South Carolina, and Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in Carpinteria, California. In 2017, the tournament moved to Port Mayaca Polo Club (PMPC) in Okeechobee, Florida, where it remains today. Since establishing its home at PMPC, recent Heritage Cup champions include Hillcroft (2017, 2024), Skaneateles (2019), BTA (2021, 2022), BTA/San Saba (2023), and San Saba (2025).
This year’s edition of the Heritage Cup featured a head-to-head showdown between last year’s finalists, ConcordEquityGroup.com, and new challenger Tendonall Equine, at the National Polo Center – Wellington on U.S. Polo Assn. Field One. Representing Team USPA were Active Member Lucas Escobar and Graduating Member Nicolas “Nico” Escobar (ConcordEquityGroup.com).
In the final, ConcordEquityGroup.com ultimately defeated their opponents 11–10 in a tightly contested match that was decided in overtime. Nico Escobar delivered a memorable performance, as he both forced the extra chukker and then sealed the final in favor of his team.
