Ham Polo Club, established in 1926, in Richmond, close to London, hosted the first ever Desert Knight Gold Cup, that saw Desert Knights, the young Saudi player’s team, Turki Abdul Raman – who aims his organisation to grow enough to be able to play high goal -, clash against Al Faisal Polo Team, led by HRH Sultan Bin Sadei, another player from Saudi Arabia, who also participated of the Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo, in Hegra, Saudi Arabia, last January.

Both lineups featured Argentine players – Manuel Prado and Antonio Menard, and Tomás Garbarini and Tomás Ruiz Guiñazu, in Desert Knights and Al Faisal Polo Team, respectively.

Desert Knights claimed the trophy, following a 6-4 win over Al Faisal; the match was played at four chukkas. Antonio Menard was named MVP. Turki Abdul Raman’s idea is to organise this tournament, in order to allow the growth of Saudi Arabian polo, and to make it more attractive for players from all over the world.
