The Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) revealed the full calendar of the upcoming 2016 Autumn Season in Argentina, on Tuesday December 23. The season will kick on on February 23, with the Polo Federal Leagues, for teams between -2 and 8 goals, that will also include leagues for ladies and kids.
As usual, the peak of the Autumn Season will be the prestigious Copa República Argentina. The remarkable tournament is the only contest in the world that teams rated from 0 to 40 goals are eligible to play. The qualifications games will take place all over the country, split in different circuits, and the winners of those circuits will play the final stage between Palermo and the AAP Headquarters, in Pilar through March 18 to 28. The championship match will be held at Palermo.
Among the most significant tournaments that are set to be played in the competitive Autumn Season include the Bartolomé Mitre Cup (15-20 goals), Ladies Mastes (0-40 goals), Santa Paula Interscholastic Tournament, and the Campeonato Argentino del Interior con Handicap (CAIH). The latter will be played in the Province of Corrientes, at two clubs – Cuarto Rincón and R9, through April 26 to May 2, and will see lineups up to 12 goals, partake.
