Tempest earned a tight 6.5-6 victory over Cool Hooves, and claimed the Duke of Wellington Trophy. The championship match took place at Guards Polo Club, set in Windsor Great Park, on Sunday August 17, and the tournament saw fourteen teams up to 12 goals, in participation.

Although Tempest had half a goal awarded on handicap, Cool Hooves earned a 2-1.5 lead by the end of the first chukka. However, and led by Simón Prado, Tempest managed to capture the lead, although it was definetly a very hard fought game – and so it was, as when the last chukka started, the scoreboard read a 5.5-5 advantage for Cool Hooves. But in the last chukka, and despite both teams produced goals, luck was on Tempest’s side and ran out the winners.

The Subsidiary went to Ainsley Saddlery who earned an impressive 8-2 win over Oriflamme.
