Scone and Monterosso have qualified for the semifinals of the Queen’s Cup, following their respective wins over King Power and White Crane on Saturday, June 19. The prestigious tournament sees fifteen teams, up to 22 goals, compete.

First up, Scone and King Power went head to head at Les Lions. It was an intense match. Scone had to fight hard against a powerful opponent. The score was tied 7-all by the last chukka, but in the end David Paradice’s boys managed to take the win. Scone fought hard, leaving King Power scoreless, and converting two goals to take the win and qualify for the tournament semifinals.

Later in the afternoon, at Guards Polo Club, Monterosso defeated White Crane (who received two goals on handicap) by 12 goals to 9. Alessandro Bazzoni’s team took the lead in the second chukka and continued to widen their advantage throughout. After two scoreless chukkas, Monterosso claimed the win to secure a spot in the semifinals.

 

The final of the Queen’s Cup is scheduled for Sunday, June 27.
