In Punta del Este, it’s not all about the beach and parties. Sport is also very much present in the new summer season, and there is one discipline that continues to gain followers, quality, and recognition: polo.

The Uruguayan Polo Association (AUP) has designed a series of tournaments throughout the summer, centered in the country’s main seaside resort as well as in Rocha, with the aim of further developing a sport that continues to grow.

In this context, one of the main highlights of the 2026 season was the first edition of the Uruguayan Women’s Polo Open, held at Estancia Vik, Ruckenwind, and Santa Cruz Polo Club, where the final was played on Thursday. Savoir defeated El Rincón 6–4 in a thrilling match, followed by a major after-polo gathering with live music and a stunning sunset in the José Ignacio area.

The championship team featured Nisha Savoir, Alana Savoir, Pearl Venot, and renowned English player Millie Hine, who recently also captured the Argentine Polo Open with La Dolfina, reaching a record total of five titles (the highest number, shared with Mia Cambiaso and Cande Fernández Araujo).
