La Ensenada Emezeta and La Dolfina Oriental are through the championship match of the República Argentina Cup, following the semifinals, that were played at the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) Headquarters, set in Pilar on Thursday March 26. The República Argentina Cup, the most significant competition of the Autumn season in Argentina, hosted by the AAP, sees sixteen teams up to 25 goals, partake. Teams are split in four leagues.

 

La Ensenada Emezeta and La Matera met up in the first semifinal. The latter received three goals on handicap, but La Ensenada Cría Emezeta reduced their contenders’ advantage, until they reached a 7-all in the third chukka. The contest was hard fought until the last seconds, until Juan Martín Zubía, the match top scored and the winner’s flagship man, scored the winning goal for La Ensenada Cría Emezeta (13-12), that secured them a place in the final.

 

La Dolfina Oriental  – who received two goals on handicap – and Cuatro Vientos Amanara played the second semifinal. However, the latter managed to overturn the scores in the third chukka. When it seemed that luck was on Cuatro Vientos Amanara’s side, the young Pedro Chavanne came up and produced three unanswered goals within two minutes in regulation time, that sealed the deal. La Dolfina Oriental claimed a 14-12 win and earned the second spot in the final.
