Octogne defeated Kazak 9-6, and lifted the coveted trophy of the 25th. Open de France Barnes. The championship match of the most significant polo tournament in France took place on Sunday September 21, at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, located in La Ferme d’Apremont, 30 minutes away from Paris. The competition saw sixteen teams up to 16 goals, partake.
The contest was a real challenge – Octogone aimed to win their first Open de France ever, while Kazak had in sight their second, after winning the prestigious competition in 2023.
Sébastien Aguettant’s foursome had a stronger start, earning a quick 3-1 lead in the first chukka. However, Alexis Morange and his boys were not about to retreat that easily. After a 3-all tie in the second chukka, they gained their first lead (5-4) in the following chukka. Octogone put enough pressure over Kazak, especially on their flagship man and main scorer, Fran Elizalde, who only managed to produce one in the final. Octogone play worked to perfection, widening their advantage, until they claimed the 9-3 win and their first title in Chantilly.
