Octogone and Kazak are through the final of the 25th. Open de France Barnes, following the semifinals that took place on Friday September 19, at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, in La Ferme d’Apremont, 30 minutes away from Paris, France. Octogone and Kazak were victorious over La Magdeleine and Essso, respectively.
Octogone and La Magdeleine played the first semifinal, with the former leading all the way, under the command of a remarkable Louis Hine, who produced seven goals. Alexis Morange’s foursome overwhelmed their contenders in the two first chukkas, by earning significant advantages (5-2 and 6-3, respectively); and although La Magdeleine did their best to get closer in the score, it was almost an impossible task. Octogone had seized the reins from the very beginning, and by the time to play the last chukka, Octogone were five goals ahead (11-6). Although La Magdeleine outscored Octogone 3-1 in the last chukka, the damage had been done – Octogone won 12-9, and claimed the first ticket to the decisive game.
Up next, Kazak and Essso played a very balanced contest through the first and fourth chukkas; despite Kazak were able to widen the gap in the third (3-1), Essso bounced back in the fourth and remained one behind (3-4). But a determined Kazak went to play the last chukka armed to the teeth – they outscored Essso 2-1, and at the end of the day they won 6-4 to step into the final. It’s worth to notice that Essso’s Guillermo Caset suffered an injury in the second chukka, and his place was taken by Alejandro Muzzio.
As a detail, this will be the first final of the Open de France for Octogone, while Kazak will aim to lift the trophy for the second time, having being the first in 2023.
