The medium goal Bronze Cup final took place on Friday August 1, at Ayala Polo Club, with the clash between Muda IZ Polo and John Smith. While the latter has been a regular within all levels of play, in Sotogrande, for the former it was their first participation in the most significant tournament series held in Sotogrande.
With regards to the match, Muda IZ Polo, led by a remarkable performance delivered by Facundo Sola, had a strong start, earning an impressive five goal advantage by the end of the second chukka. But in the third chukka, John Smith (who received one goal on handicap) bounced back and closed the gap to two goals. However, Prince Firham’s lineup had another ideas in mind; in the fourth chukka they widened their leadership, with two unanswered goals, courtesy of Ciro Urturi. At the end of the day, luck was on Muda IZ Polo, and the Malaysian team claimed a 15-10 win, that secured them their first ever title in Sotogrande.
