The 54th. International Polo Tournament, hosted by Ayala Polo Club, in Sotogrande, Spain, came to an end on Saturday August 30, with the two remaining finals of the Gold Cup – low goal and high goal. The low goal final saw Hartog and Essso clashing in the decisive contest.
Hartog got off to a strong start – they hold Essso scoreless for two chukkas, earning a 5-0 and a 6-0 in the first and the second, respectively. The foursome, a runner up the Bronze Cup, dominated the match and the scoreboard, thoroghout four chukkas; and although Essso outscored Hartog 3-1 in the last chukka, the damage has already been done – Hartog won 8-5 and lifted the low goal Gold Cup.
