The championship match of the high goal Bronze Cup, betwen Les Lions Sainte Mesme and Amanara, took place on Saturday August 2. Both lineups played the first high goal decisive game of the first leg of the 54th. International Polo Tournament, hosted by Ayala Polo Club, in Sotogrande, Spain.

The contest was very close and tight, with both teams on their tails, and exchanging the leadership that never went beyond the minimum difference; to the delight of the spectators, it was anyone’s game, indeed. The tough battle was not over in the last chukka – a goal was scored within the thirty additional seconds, and the scoreboard read a 8-all, which meant that the game went into over time. That extra chukka saw a remarkable play, combined between the two patrons – Robert Strom and Dillon Bacon. The latter picked the ball, run to the goalposts and produced the winning goal that secured Les Lions Sainte Mesme the narrow 9-8 win and the first high goal title of the 54th. International Polo Tournament.
