At the Santa Barbara Polo Club, located on the outskirts of the sprawling city of Los Angeles, United States, the grand final of the USPA Pacific Coast Open took place on Sunday, August 31.
The most prestigious tournament on the West Coast of the U.S. featured seven teams with handicaps of up to seventeen goals.

The decisive match of the renowned tournament—which began on August 10—saw La Karina, who had recorded three wins and two losses, face off against Carbenella, who entered the final with four wins and one loss. Notably, these two teams had already met during the preliminary stage prior to the semifinals, where Ben Soleimani’s team had come out on top with a 14-11 victory.

The final was a tight, hard-fought battle, with both sides exchanging leads on the scoreboard, featuring spectacular goals and an outstanding performance by Pipe Vercellino (who had won the previous edition with Antelope), scoring nine of his team’s twelve goals. Thanks to the brilliant showing of the Chilean polo star, La Karina was crowned 2025 USPA Pacific Coast Open champion with a 12-10 victory.
