The semifinals of La Hache Cup took place on Thursday October 30, at La Hache Polo Club, set in General Rodriguez. The third edition of the tournament, hosted by Hilario Ulloa and Minuto Siete, sees eight teams up to 20 goals, partake.
La Ensenada and Hípica played the first semifinal, in a remarkable clash of two lineups that feature names like Hilario Ulloa, Alfredo Bigatti and Jero del Carril, all of them currently playing the Triple Crown. La Ensenada led all the scores, but Hípica managed to tie in the fifth and sixth chukkas, forcing the contest into over time. Alfredo Bigatti produced the winning goal to secure the ticket to the final for La Ensenada.
Up next, Cria Marmen and Bel Polo met in the second semifinal. Following a great first chukka delivered by Bel Polo, their contenders, with three Brazilian players in the lineup, bounced back and tied the match. From then onwards, the game belonged to Cría Marmen, under the command of an outstanding Pedrinho Zacharias; at the end of the day Cría Marmen claimed a 14-11 win and the spot in the final.
THE FINAL OF LA HACHE CUP BETWEEN LA ENSENADA AND CRIA MARMEN WILL BE PLAYED ON MONDAY NOVEMBER 3.
