La Aguada Don Ercole claimed a 11-7 win over Velay and won the coveted Cámara de Diputados Cup, after the championship match that took place at the Argentine Polo Association Headquarters, in Pilar, on Wednesday November 26. The win secured the Open Door-based lineup a spot in the playoff against the eighth placed team within the standings of the current Triple Crown. The winner of the playoff will qualify to the main draw of next year’s most prestigious tournament in the world.

La Aguada Don Ercole earned a quick 2-0 lead in the first chukka. From the second chukka onwards, the scores were very leveled, with La Aguada narrow 5-4 advantage over Velay. But the former managed to bounce back in the fifth, and led by the golas of Pedro Zacharias and Felipe Vercellino (they produced a total of nine goals between the two of them), they claimed a three goal gap in the penultimate chukka(9-6). Although Velay fought hard to make a comeback, the efforts didn’t pay off – Pedro Zacharias and Facundo Llosa sealed the deal in the last chukka, and La Aguada Don Ercole won one of the most competitive tournaments of the season in Argentina.
