The final of the Carlos Gracida Memorial Cup took place on Sunday March 15, at Jindal Polo Estate, set in the outskirts of New Delhi, India. It was the last tournament of the spring season hosted by Naveen Jindal’s Club, that saw six teams up to 6 goals, partake, in lineups that included renowned players such as Ramiro and Juan Gris Zavaleta.
Packed grandsstands attended the decisive game between Instrucko and Jindal Panther, with the latter featuring Naveen Jindal for the first time; he was unable to play with his team due to business travels.
Although Instrucko claimed an early lead through a goal produced by Krishna Inkiya, Instrucko managed to bounce back by the end of the first chukka, when, thanks to a remarkable performance delivered by Juan Gris Zavaleta, they caught a 3-2 lead. Things would not change in the second chukka, that finished with Instrucko 4-3 up.
The yellow jerseys made a comeback in the third chukka, and took the lead, but Instrucko managed to tie in the last minute. By the start of the fifth chukka, they were tied at 5-all. Within three minutes in regulation time, Instrucko scored three crucial goals that led them to the 8-6 win to capture the final tournament of the season at Jindal Polo Estate.
