Gstaad Palace defeate Albinati Aeronautics 7-4, and won the Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad, after the final that took place on Sunday August 24, at the Polo Club Gstaad, in Switzerland. The last day of one of the most remarkable polo events of the international calendar, saw packed grandsstands, and the attendance enjoyed a fabulous day of polo sorrounded by the beauty of the Swiss Alps. The tournamen saw four teams up to 14 goals, in participation.

Gstaad Palace was the dominating force of the match; after ending the first chukka 1-0 up, they seized the reins from the second onwards; by the start of the fourth and last chukka, they had a 6-3 advantage. Martín “Min” Podestá was the star player of the winners, having produced four goals and presented with the MVP award. It’s worth to note that Gstaad Palace lineup included the father-son combo, Markus Graeff, and his son, Thomas. “It’s such a pleasure to play in Gstaad. I’m the oldest player on the field at 73, and as far as I know, the next oldest is 20 years younger and most of them are between 20 and 30! I’m thrilled I could contribute… a little. I put this team together, and I’m proud of what we achieved. Playing here in Gstaad is wonderful. Each of my teammates played their part. I had my role to play, and I think I did it well. Like football, polo is a team sport. If I’m invited again next year, I’d be delighted to return.”, stated a happy Markus Graeff.

Previously, and under the command of Nicolás Pieres, Kielder Agro grabbed the third place, after a hard fought 8-7 win over Hublot.
