The season in the United Arab Emirates has already kicked off, and the start of the High Handicap season is getting closer and closer. As every year, it features its three flagship tournaments of up to twenty goals of handicap, the most important competitions in the Southeast Asian region. These tournaments are played at both the Al Habtoor Polo Club and the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club.

At the former, located on the outskirts of the impressive city of Dubai, two of the three twenty-goal tournaments are held: the Silver Cup and the Gold Cup, which are part of the Dubai Gold Cup Series promoted by the Al Habtoor Polo Club. In recent days, the teams that will compete in these events have been confirmed.

For the Silver Cup (which will run from January 10 to January 24) there will be five teams, and for the Gold Cup (from January 28 to February 14) an additional team will join, bringing the total to six organizations battling for the trophy. Among the standout players are several who took part in the 2025 Triple Crown, such as Lukin Monteverde (a regular of the Dubai season), Gonzalo Pieres (appearing for the second consecutive year), Carlos María Ulloa (returning after several years), and Antonio Heguy (who will make his first appearance in the Middle East).

Next Monday, January 5, the Silver Cup draw will take place, allowing the tournament schedule to be determined. It will be broadcast live on Pololine.tv.
