The British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, one of the highlights of the British season, hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club, set in  Midhurst, West Sussex, continued on Saturday, June 25. In the day’s single match, Park Place Vaara made a remarkable comeback over King Power in the last chukka to take the victory. The tournament sees fourteen teams, up to 22 goals, compete.

 

While Park Place Vaara got the upper hand in the first chukka, King Power took control from the second chukka onwards, reaching a commanding 5-1 lead by half time. Vaara struggled to close the gap in the following chukkas; by the start of the last, they were 4-6 behind. But in that decisive chukka, a determined Park Place Vaara took to the field, overwhelming King Power to outscore them 4-1. Thanks to Park Place Vaara’s performance in the last seven minutes, the team were able to secure the 8-7 win.
