The high goal Terralpa Silver Cup kicked off on Tuesday, August 3, with two matches at Ayala Polo Club. Both BP Polo and Ayala claimed victories. The Terralpa Silver Cup marks the second stage of the 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande.

 

First up, at Ayala Polo Club, BP Polo dominated Sainte Mesme on ground 3. BP’s crowning moment came in the fifth chukka, when they took a seven goal advantage to secure a comfortable 14-7 win. Next, on Ayala’s number one ground, Dos Lunas La Hacienda, recent winners of the Volvo Bronze Cup, took on Ayala, who had their highest rated player, Polito Pieres, make his debut in the lineup. Pieres gave an extraordinary performance, scoring eight goals to take his team to an impressive 14-8 win.

 

The Terralpa Silver Cup continues on Wednesday, August 4, with two medium goal matches and one high goal game. 

 

Sotogrande’s 50th anniversary tournament will be played at Ayala Polo Club, Santa María Polo Club, and Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage. The tournament sees twelve teams, split into two categories, compete. The high goal is for 18-20 goal teams, while the medium goal is for 12-14 goal teams.
