In the clash of the unbeaten, La Natividad La Dolfina defeated Los Machitos by a heavy 22-6, and earned the first spot in the championship match of the 85th. Tortugas Open, following the match that took place at Tortugas Country Club on Saturday October 15.

La Natividad La Dolfina got off to a strong start, claiming an early4-0 lead in the first chukka. Alfredo Bigatti produced the first goal for Los Machitos halfway the second chukka; however, Los Machitos wouldn’t be able to score until the fourth chukka, when Torito Ruiz made it two for Los Machitos. Since the very beginning, it was a walk in the park for La Natividad La Dolfina – the 40-goal Cañuelas foursome dominated the match and the score, reaching a 9-3 advantage by half time. The second part was not much different, but the seal already seeemed said and done in a remarkable sixth chukka, when La Natividad La Dolfina outscored Los Machitos 5-1. After another goal scored by Torito Ruiz, a merciless Jeta Castagnola came up to find the flags four consecutive times, and only took a bit of air, when his brother Barto ran quickly to the goalposts to seal the 17-4 lead.

At the end of the day, the match was another superb display by the Cañuelas boys, who played like they were in their backyard at home. They sealed the deal in the two last chukkas, led by Jeta Castagnola, who scored 12 goals. And that was it – La Natividad La Dolfina will play their second final of the 2025 Triple Crown in Argentina.

It’s worth to notice that, beyond today’s result, Los Machitos delivered a remarkable performance thoroghout the whole Tortugas Open (just keep this in mind: Torito Ruiz is already one of the best players of the season), and one thing is for certain – Mariano Aguerre’s organisation lineup reached the semifinal of the Tortugas Open, unbeaten, which is undoubtedly a great motivation before starting what’s coming up next, the Argentine Open.

Previously, Sol de Agosto played a very good match, with Benjamin Panelo as their flagship man, to defeat La Irenita La Hache 19-13. It was their first win in this Triple Crown, which occured on Paquito de Narvaez’s 18th. birthday. Sol de Agosto was already demonstrating they were up to the task, and today they claimed more than a win, but a significant achievment that leaves them with high hopes to make it better in Palermo. With regards to La Irenita La Hache, maybe they need to emphasize on what’s not working in a lineup made by four great players, in order to improve their performance in Palermo.
