25th. Open de France Barnes: Quarter finals have been revealed

Octogone, Brittany, La Magdeleine, Clinova Noa, Télédou, Essso. Kazak and Talandracas are the eight teams who secured a spot in the quarter finals of the 25th. Open de France Barnes, the most important polo tournament in France, which is currently underway at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, set in La Ferme d’Apremont, only 30 minutes away from Paris, France. The competition sees sixteen teams up to 16 goals, in participation.

 

These are the results of the last league games, played through Wednesday September 10 and Thursday September 11:

  • WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 10

Las Brisas 7-6 Battistoni

Télédou 9-7 Kazak

Essso 10-5 Eternal J

Talandracas 13-11 Jolly Roger

  • THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 11

Octogone 10-5 La Esperanza

Clinova Noa 9-8 La Berta

Brittany 9-7 Animales

La Magdeleine 13-6 Ste. Mesme

The qualification to quarter finals have been decided as follows:

League A: With three teams tied in points (Las Brisas, Kazak and Télédou), a penalty shotoout to determine the two spots was needed. The winners were Kazak and Télédou.

League B: Octogone remained undefeated and earned their spot in quarters, while Clinova Noa advanced into the next stage after a hard fought win, with a last minute goal.

League C: La Magdeleine played a remarkable game to defeat Sainte Mesme and earned a spot in quarters. And although Brittany claimed a win over Animales, they went to a penalty shotoout against Animales and Sainte Mesme, with Jean-Francois Decaux’s foursome victorious.

League D: No need of penalty shootout – the undefeated Talandracas and Essso advanced directy to the tournament’s next stage.

 

The quarter finals of the 25th. Open de France Barnes are due on Saturday September 14 and Sunday September 15, with the following order of play:

  • Saturday September 14:

2,30pm: Octogone vs. Brittany

5pm: La Magdeleine vs. Clinova Noa

  • Sunday September 15:

2,3opm: Télédou vs. Essso

5pm: Kazak vs. Talandracas
