The 132nd. Argentine Polo Open Championship will resume on the weekend, with matches due on Saturday November 15 and Sunday November 16, at Palermo. Halfway the most remarkable tournament of the world, teams are focused on the upcoming league deciders or an eventual playoff, so this is a crucial matchdate.
But perhaps the most important news is about the second game on Sunday, that will feature an unexpected and significant absence – last Thursday it was revealed that La Irenita La Hache’s Pablo MacDonough has a broken collarbone, and he will miss the remaining of the Open. He will be subbed in by his nephew, Matías MacDonough Jr, nicknamed “Vizcacha”, his brother Matías’ eldest son. It’s worth to notice that La Irenita La Hache, a lineup that were considered as favourites, made up of four extraordinary players, didn’t do as expected during the current Triple Crown, but they bounced back in their debut match at Palermo, when they claimed an impressive 23-13 win over La Dolfina II.
The order of play of the 132| Argentine Polo Open Championship of the upcoming weekend is as follows:
- SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15
2pm: Sol de Agosto vs. La Zeta Kazak
4,30pm: La Natividad La Dolfina vs. Los Machitos
