The first ever Desert Knights Gold Cup took place for the first time ever at Ham Polo Club, in Richmond, close to London, on Monday August 25. The event was organised by the Saudi Arabian player, Turki Abdul Tahman, who is earning his place within polo step by step.
Although the contest played in the club established in 1926 was only an exhibition, Turki’s idea is to host the match every year, in order to gain more significance, and even settle it as an established event within the polo season in England, to attract more players to compete.
PoloLine met up with Turki to speak about various issues – his beginnings in the sport, and his dream to play high goal in the United States and the United Kingdom.
