Hilario Ulloa is more than your average polo player; thoroghout these years, his presence and quality made him a remarkable personality within the sport. In addition, he established his own club, La Hache, in order to be able to compete at the highest level with his own organisation.

Slowly, Hilario fullfilled his achievements – La Hache first earned a spot in the Argentine Open from the qualification; later on, La Hache stepped directly into the Triple Crown with two teams, and with good results. In 2024, La Hache won the Jockey Club Open and the Tortugas Open; therefore, the Lincoln-based player and organisation became more and more competitive. On an international level, 2025 has been quite good for Hilario – he claimed two tournaments he never won before, the USPA Gold Cup and the Queen’s Cup, in the United States and England, respectively, both with Park Place.

But Hilario went for more. He already won the high goal Bronze Cup, the first leg of the 54th. International Polo Tournament, in Sotogrande. Although he was unable to make it in the Silver Cup, now he is focused to regain his beat in order to play the most significant tournament of the series, the Gold Cup.

Hilario Ulloa met up with PoloLine, on a warm afternoon, in Sotogrande, and he spoke about several issues, while waiting for the start of the peak of the season in the South of Spain.
