AM/UAE made a great comeback today at Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club, in Dubai, as they outscored Ghantoot in the last chukka to secure a 9-7 win in the Silver Cup, the opening competition of the Gold Cup Series.
Ghantoot got off to a strong start, and finished the first chukka with a 3-0 advantage. But from the second onwards, AM/UAE, led by their top scorer, Jacinto Crotto, began closing the gap. By half time, the match was tied at 5 goals a piece. In the second half, Marcos Araya and Pablo Llorente came out strong to command Ghantoot’s attack. They secured a slight advantage (7-6) in the last, but AM/UAE stayed strong. They outscored Ghantoot 2-0, with great goals from Crotto and Nacho Acuña, to claim a very important victory.
