PX was crowned champion of the Sotoestates Cup, the first stage of the Iberian Polo Tour 2019, after finalising the tournament undefeated at Santa María Polo Club last weekend.

 

On Sunday, PX, composed of Xerxes González Quijano, Dimitri Deynneko, Christian Chaves and Pelayo Berazadi, beat Rosbif Polo Team by 7 goals to 4, to conclude a fantastic run and take the Sotoestates Cup, which was played between the grounds at Los Pinos and Puente de Hierro at Santa María Polo Club.

 

The first day of the tournament, played on Friday, saw PX edge Polo Valley by 8 goals to 7, while on Saturday they beat Esperanza Red Charm 7-6. They concluded their winning streak by overpowering Rosbif Polo Team 7-4. Esperanza Red Charm won the Andalucía championship, a tournament that was played parallel to the Sotoestates Cup of the Iberian Polo Tour 2019, while Polo Valley claimed the subsidiary.

 

In terms of special prizes, Dennis Connolly, from Rosbif Polo Team, was named MVP of the tournament, and Andrew Naylor’s mare Inga, was chosen as BPP of the final.

 

The Iberian Polo Tour continues this weekend with the Casa Fagliano Cup, to be played at Ayala Polo Club.
