Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club proudly hosted the 6th Habtoor Polo Challenge Cup on the 16th of November 2018. The traditional Challenge Cup was introduced by Mohammed Al Habtoor and Rashid Al Habtoor to celebrate the sport of polo in the UAE.

Aside from the well-awaited match between Habtoor Polo and Mahra Polo teams, the afternoon turned out to be of great fun for all the guests of the Club. The Polo Lounge was in full swing and served as an optimal viewing spot for special guests and VIPs. The usual Friday Polo Picnic setup had visitors relaxing under gazebos in picnic style with food and ice cream trucks for tasty treats. The dedicated kid’s area proved to be popular amongst the little ones as they had several activities to go for such as a massive bouncy castle, pony rides, rodeo bull, face painting, henna, nail art, arts and crafts and even had balloons shaped into their favourite animals by a clown.

It was evident from the first chukker that a heated game was about to ensue. The first chukker had three goals scored by Mahra which the Habtoor team closed the gap with a brilliant end-to-end goal by Mohammed Al Habtoor before the end of the second chukker. At halftime, guests were called in to participate in a Run-N-Hunt game – a hunt for two gold coins and a race to capture a flag in the field. Three winners scored themselves amazing prizes in cash and gift vouchers worth AED 2,500 each.

The tight match concluded at 5-7 in favour of the Habtoor Polo team. Humaid Bin Drai, a reputable name in the polo circuit and Chairman and Founder of Bin Drai Enterprises was called upon the field to award the winners and runners-up of the 6th Al Habtoor Polo Challenge Cup.
