Julius Baer Gold Cup: Desert Palm & UAE claim debut wins

The Dubai Open officially kicked off with the first day of the Julius Baer Gold Cup, which featured two games. Desert Palm took on Mahra Polo first. The match was hard fought, and tied by the end of the second chukka. By the end of the third, Desert Palm had taken a 4-goal advantage, and secured control of their opponents to assure a 14-4 win. Camilo Castagnola scored six of his team’s goals. 

 

The following match saw Abu Dhabi Polo and Silver Cup winner UAE Polo battle it out. The match was tied 5-all at half-time, but subsequent goals from Tomas Panelo and Alejandro Muzzio in the last two chukkas sealed UAE’s position as the winner, with a final score of 11 goals to 7.
