>Argentina // Campeonato Argentino de Interior con Handicap El Chañar took the trophy to Córdoba
May 10, 2011- El Chañar (representativo of the Province of Córdoba) defeated Las Margaritas (representative of the Province of Entre Rios) by a 10-5 score, and won the Copa Sesquicentenario de la Revolución de Mayo, - Campeonato Argentino del Interior con Handicap (CAIH), in the final held at at Las Margaritas Polo Club, in Gualeguaychu, located in the Province of Entre Rios, around 230 km North-West Buenos Aires.
Prior to the big final, Las Rosas took a 9-6 win over Estancia Grande and claimed the Copa Roberto Cavanagh, while Chapaleufu beat Nueve de Caballeria 9-6 and took the Copa Amistad.

May 9, 2011 - They are Saed, Rashid, Khalid and Mohamed. They are the four Bin Drai brothers, who come from Dubai, and brought together by their huge passion for polo.
Following the steps of the eldest brother Saed, the Bin Drai boys made a career in polo, and they become highly talented players. Moreover, the Bin Drai brothers also have one of the most solid and best organizations in the United Arab Emirates.
PoloLine interviewed the four brothers in exclusive, who talked about their beginning, achievements and their projects for the future.

May 8, 2011 - Power Horse scored three unanswered goals in the last chukker, one by Sugar Erskine and two by Marc Ganzi, in their 11-9 win over Audi, to take the GCPC Spring Classic, following the final played today at Marc and Melissa Ganzi's Grand Champions Polo Club, in Wellington, Florida.
Power Horse's Marc Ganzi was named MVP, and Main Attraction, a grey geling owned by Melissa Ganzi and ridden by Martin Adcock, took BPP honors.
The Subsidiary cups went to Elangani Ranch and Pony Express, who defeated Newport and Grand Champions, respectively.
>France // St. Tropez Polo Team Easy take Coupe de L'Hippocampe
May 8, 2011 - Easy defeated Ultra Pink 6-4, and obtained the Coupe de L'Hippocampe, the second competition of the season at St. Tropez Polo Club, that featured four teams up to 8 goals.
Previously, Haras de Gros Bec beat St. Tropez, with identical score, and took the third place.
>US // Grand Champions Polo Club Ladies claim benefit challenge
May 6, 2011 - The All-American Grand Champions Polo Ladies beat the British Armed Forces Team 6-4, and won the challenge, held at Marc and Melissa Ganzi's Grand Champions Polo Club, in Wellington, Florida.
The event, that featured an all-ladies team and a team comprised by British officials, was to benefit the Museum of Polo & Hall of Fame.
Sunny Hale was named MVP and Marc Ganzi's Nicasia, ridden by Tiffany Busch, took the BPP award.
>Argentina Los Machitos win La Aguada Polo Club Open
May 3, 2011 - Los Machitos beat Sol de Agosto 9-8 and obtained the La Aguada Polo Club Open, for teams up to 30 goals, which finals were played today at Sol de Agosto. It's the second time Los Machitos win this competition, one of the highest rated of the autumn season in Argentina.
Estanislao Ramos, who filled in for Nick Manifold in Los Machitos, was named MVP, while Mariano Aguerre's Machitos Jazmin, took BPP honors.
The Subsidiary Trophy went to La Aguada, who defeated Alegria 10-8.

May 2, 2011 - He is a prestigious heart surgeon, but has a passion that made him one of the most respected polo historian: Horacio Laffaye.
A Wellington resident for many years, Dr. Laffaye, who used to play polo and rugby in Argentina, went deep into the wonderful history of polo, which he put in many books, being all of them true enciclopedias that attract even those who don't know about this incredible sport. Most recently, he presented his newer book, "Polo in the United States - A history", ane he is currently working in his new project, due in 2012.
Dr. Laffaye is featured in a new Five things to Know, and among other issues, he tells how a renowned surgeon became an equally renowned historian.

May 1, 2011 - Scapa-John Smith obtained the Memorial Doña María de las Mercedes, following their wins in a round robin competition.
In action held on Los Pinos grounds, Scapa-John Smith defeated Silex 10-8, and Santa Rita 7-6. For Scapa-John Smith, it was their second title of the spring season at Santa María Polo Club, in Sotogrande, following their stardom at the Memorial Conde de Guaqui.

>UK Season 2011 Medium goal kicks off at Guards Polo Club
April 30, 2011 - Medium goal competition will get started at Guards Polo Club on Sunday May 1, with the opening match for Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother's Centenary Tournament.
The tournament showcases ten teams up to 16 goals, broken down into two leagues, and will run until Sunday May 15.

April 27, 2011 - The United States Polo Association (USPA), announced the April 2011 handicap changes, that will be effective since June 1, 2011.
According to these new handicaps, Guillermo Caset Jr., winner of the CV Whitney Cup and the US Open, is the brand new 10-goaler in the United States.
Another important raises are the following:
Tomás Garcia del Rio, Nicolás Pieres and Santiago Toccalino (7 to 8); Martín Espain, Iñaki Laprida and Mariano Obregon Jr. (6 to 7); and Mariano Uranga (5 to 6).
Regarding lows, these are the most important ones:
Mariano Aguerre (10 to 9); Bartolomé Castagnola, Francisco de Narvaez Jr, and Cristian Laprida Jr. (9 to 8); Carlos Gracida (8 to 7); Tommy Biddle, Héctor Galindo and Jeff Blake (7 to 6); Carlos Avendaño and Juan Bollini (6 to 5).

April 27, 2011 - The Brazilian Polo Association has named the team that will play England, for the Coronation Cup, in the match that will be held at Guards Polo Club on Sunday, July 24.
It will be a very special edition for one of Europe's most relevant polo events, as the Coronation Cup will be celebrating its Centenary this year. The massive trophy was donated by the Ranelagh Club in 1911, to conmemorate the coronation of King George V, and features England playing a polo match against a guest country every year.

April 25, 2011 - The 2011 season Chantilly Polo Club, in Paris, has just begun, with the finals of the Trophee du Bois du Lieutenant and the PGH Coupe, both held on Sunday April 24.
In the final of the
Trophee du Bois de Lieutenant, Sainte Mesme beat Peters Champlatreux 6-2. Meanwhile, Citron obtained the PGH Coupe, after their 9.6,5 win over Arcturus/Blackpearl.

April 25, 2011 - Fourteen teams,comprised by kids between 11 and 16 years-old, took part of the II Edition Valentin Caset Trophy, that was held at the Caset family's club, Santa María de Lobos, located in Lobos, in the Province of Buenos Aires.
The competition, a tribute to the young and talented Valentin Caset, who passed away in an accident late 2009,
had once again renowned actor, Oscar winner, polo player and the tournament's godfather, Tommy Lee Jones, as the special guest, who also was one of the umpires.
The winners were the following teams:
Category I, up to 11 years old - Just Horse Polo Team
Category II, up to 13 years old - Talabartería Gómez
Category III, up to 16 years old - Boating
>Dubai Habtoor Polo and Dubai Falcons played first ever high goal exhibition in Dubai
April 24 2011 - Habtoor Polo beat Dubai Falcons 8-7, in the first ever high goal polo exhibition in the Middle East, on Friday April 22.
The 27-goal exchibition, was held at Dubai polo & Equestrian Club, and featured Gold Cup Patrons, Mohammed Al Habtoor (Habtoor Polo) and Saed Bin Drai (Dubai Falcons), who were joined by the members of the Novillo Astrada family, brothers Eduardo Jr., Miguel, Javier, Ignacio and Alejandro Novillo Astrada and their cousin Julio, in the first visit to Dubai.
The event closed the 2011 season at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club.

April 22, 2011 - La Martina store, in Dubai, United Arab Emirated, hosted an exhibition of the young and talented Argentine artist, Eugenia Laprida, the daughter of the worldwide renowned polo player, Horacio Laprida, hosted an exhibition, at the La Martina Store, sited in the Dubai Mall, United Arab Emirates.
The cocktail featured many guests, as well as Eugenia's friends and family.
Eugenia Laprida, who lives in Dubai, has been an artist for many years, She focalizes her work in polo, and her paintings showcase a very particular style, exquisite and minimalist.

April 21, 2011 - Argentina defeated England 13-8, and obtained the Nations Cup for the second time, after the match held today on field #2, in Palermo, in the comeback of international polo to the Cathedral.
Argentina dominated the match and the score from the beginning, and extended the advantage with a 4-0 in the second chukka, increasing in thoroughout the rest of the match, led by Facundo Pieres, who scored eight goals.

April 19, 2011 - The Palm Beach season has just come to an end, with Lechuza Caracas' stardom on the 107th. US Open. One of the team's players, Juan Martín Nero, became the new Number One of the World Polo Tour, a place he gets for the first time.
Plus, the international ranking of polo features many important moves, just before the start of the season in England, that makes it even more thrilling to follow.

April 17, 2011 - Lechuza Caracas beat Audi 8-6 and won the 107th. US Open, the culminating competition of the American Triple Crown, after the final held at International Polo Club Palm Beach.
It was the biggest moment for Lechuza Caracas, Victor Vargas and his people, and a real award for all the team's efforts, after the tragic moments two years ago, when they lost 21 horses of the organization.
Lechuza Caracas' Juan Martin Nero, was named MVP, and Rodrigo Ribeiro de Andrade's Zoltan, took BPP honors.

April 6, 2011 - The Audi Polo Awards, the Oscars of Polo, and one of the top events of the polo season in England, will be presented in a ceremony at Coworth Park Polo Club, on Monday, May 16.
The event is organized by the legandary former British player and England national team captain, Andrew Hine, and as usual it will be attended by the most important polo personalities from all over the world.
