By PoloLine & Alejandra Ocampos Mungo and Royal Barriere played the opening match of the Coupe d'Argent, the second competition of the season at Deauville International Polo Club, for teams up to 17goals. Royal Barriere, who received 0,5 goals on handicap, opened the scores with goals by Claudio and Darío Musso. Mungo closed the gap with a double score by Luke Tomlinson, but the the first chukker finished with Royal Barriere leading 3,5-2 following Darío Musso's second goal. Mungo took the lead in the second chukker, supported in an almost perfect offensive work, that Royal Barriere found difficult to handle. Again it was Luke Tomlinson who scored twice to give Mungo a 4-3,5 advantage. Claudio Musso scored for Royal Barriere but by the end of the chukker, Mungo took a 5-3,4 lead, after a goal by Thibault Guillemin. Mungo controled the match thoroghout the third chukker, which they won 4-2, a result that led them to a 9-6,5 advantage in the scoreboard. Goals by the two Tomlinson brothers, Luke (1) and Mark (2) got the match almost decided in the fourth chukker in favour of Mungo, that already boasted a 12-7,5 lead. Overwhelmed by Mungo's dominance, Royal Barriere did their best to get at least a tie in the fifth and last chukker. They could break Mungo's defense just a couple of times, through Alex Sztarkman and Darío Musso, but that was all. Mungo took an important 12-9,5 opening win against Royal Barriere.
