Argentina Open on Snow

Snow Polo in Patagonia Argentina

With 10-goalers Gonzalito and Facundo Pieres

The fourth Argentina Snow Cup was held at Chapelco Ski Resort, in the Patagonia Argentina. It is the most important and the only high goal snow polo competition in South America, and awards points for the World Polo Tour.
 
The tournament featured four teams up to 17 goals. Every year, the competition showcases 10-goalers: on this occasion, the 10-goalers were no less than worldwide stars Gonzalo Jr. and Facundo Pieres

Action started at 11am, with the qualifying rounds. The first, Sun International vs. Punta del Este Polo Club, was a very close match and ended tied 2-2. It was decided by penalty shots, and the victory for Sun International was secured by Nacho Garrahan.
 
It was followed by another very tight game, between Galicia Eminent and Hyundai. Win went to Galicia Eminent by a 3-0 score, with goals by Mariano Etcheverry and a great performance by Martín Garrahan.
 
Galicia Eminent and Sun International played the final. Very balanced action between both teams, ended up in a scoreless match, that was decided by penalty shots. Winners were Galicia Eminent, and all three teams members scored one goal apiece.
