Alejandro Muzzio and Juan Martín Neroy Diana Butler Enigma, runners-up in last year's final, won their first match in the campaign for the 2012 Cartier Queen's Cup. They defeated Piaget 9-8 in a low-scoring game on The Queen's Ground at Smith's Lawn. There was little between the two teams for much of the match, with Enigma holding a narrow 5-4 lead over Piaget at half-time. But three goals from the sticks of Juan Martin Nero and Matias MacDonough gave them a more commanding lead in the fourth and when Nero successfuly converted a penalty in the fifth - the only goal in this chukka - they looked on course to win. Piaget rallied in the sixth though, with goals from Christian Laprida and Joaquin Pittaluga, and extra time seemed on the cards, especially when Nero missed a 60-yard penalty. However Piaget's rally came too late for them and it was Enigma who took this win in League Two. Meanwhile, Ayala took a narrow 11-10 win over Aravali, in the match played in Manor Farm, Sussex. Queen's Cup action will continue on Saturday, with the following schedule: Dubai vs. Cortium (Dubai), at 12pm; Richard Mille vs. La Bamba de Areco (Guards), at 3pm; and Talandracas vs. Zedan (Trippets), at 4pm.
