Interview with Valiente II

He will miss much of the US Open due ot an injury in his right hand

Breaking news from Palm Beach: Adolfo Cambiaso won't be able to play much of the US Open due to a injury on his right hand, that was produced when he was hit by a ball during the final of the USPA Gold Cup. He's estimated to be out fro around three weeks.
Valiente II's player, as well as Dr. Norman Dionisio, talked in exclusive to PoloLine, about the injury.

What happened to your hand?
I was got hit by a ball during the fifth chukker of the final of the Gold Cup, and broke the third metacarpal bone of my right hand, so I will be out for a couple of weeks. They say it's four weeks, but I will try to come back in three weeks time. 
If we are lucky enough, the boys can win a couple of matches and make it into quarter finals at least in the fourth place of the five-team bracket; I don't care in which position, the important thing is get into quarters.

Did this happened to you sometime?
Just once, during the Gold Cup semifinals, in UK, when I had to stay out, but that was nothing to do with this. This is even worse, because you can go anywhere, but you can't carry the weight of the mallet. I felt something strange the day of the final, but that's it... now, we have to wait, and time will tell. I will try to play the quarterfinals, otherwise, I will help the team to be competitive enough, which is not that easy...

What happened to Adolfo Cambiaso?
He was hit by a ball during the Gold Cup final, that unfortunately broke the base of the third metacarpal bone of his right hand. He carries the mallet with his right hand, so this kind of injury requires special treatment. In this moment we're consulting other doctors both in Argentina and the United States. The idea is to inmobilize the hand as much as it's possible, to try to arrive to April 21. That's when an structure around the two broken bones that are inmobilized will be formed, and possibly, if it doesn't hurt that much, maybe we can start a work on the field, and see if he can be able to continue in the US Open.

So you expect that Cambiaso can take a mallet in a couple of weeks?
I think so; he will be fine to get a practice in a couple of weeks.

POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS

Word say that Nachi Heguy and Lucas Monteverde have been considered to replace Adolfo Cambiaso in Valiente II, until he is in condition to come back to the team.
On the other side, there was a consideration over Nick Roldán, the replacement for Audi. However, this won't be possible, because if Roldán goes to play for Valiente II, he can´t be with Audi.
