Bin Drai to semis; Habtoor beat Desert Palm to qualify for quarters

Bin Drai qualified to the semifinals of the Julius Baer Gold Cup 2018 in what was another exciting day of action at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. On the other hand, Habtoor and Mahra joined Zedan and Wolves in the quarterfinal round, due on Friday. In today’s matches, Bin Drai defeated Mahra by 9 goals to 6 after a great team performance, and Habtoor won their match against Desert Palm by 7 goals to 6 in what was a hard fought game.

Bin Drai Polo once again proved that they are a serious team and a tough opponent; today’s victory against Mahra saw them qualify directly for the semifinals, where Abu Dhabi await.

In the second match of the day, Habtoor Polo achieved a decisive victory against Desert Palm in a very close game. They played knowing that the winner would make it to the quarterfinal round, and both teams fought throughout all five chukkas. Francisco Elizalde was on great form, and he scored with one minute to go to give Habtoor Polo the victory and a place in the next round of the Julius Baer Gold Cup 2018.
