Bin Drai beat Habtoor and is back in business

Bin Drai defeated Habtoor Polo by 9 goals to 8 in the single match held today for the 18-goal McLaren Silver Cup, the opening trophy of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series 2018, at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.

After five full speed chukkas, Bin Drai defeated Habtoor Polo. It was a great victory for patron Rashid Bin Drai’s team, and the win makes the tournament more competitive than ever.  Now both teams have one victory each, and have a chances of reaching the semifinals if they win their last qualifying matches this weekend.

Habtoor Polo's Francisco Elizalde was the top scorer of the match, with 7 goals, and Raúl Laplacette was the top scorer for the winning team, with 5.

Bin Drai: Rashid Bin Drai 1 (1 goal), Andres Laplacette 4 (1), Matias Torres Zavaleta 7 (2), Raúl Laplacette 6 (5). Total: 18.

The McLaren Cup continues on Friday, with Mahra Polo taking on Zedan at 2 pm on ground one, at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.
